Gorgon Shield

The face of the Gorgon, also called the Gorgoneion, has been an apotropaic symbol since ancient times. It was used symbolically on buildings, ships, armor, and coins across the Mediterranean to ward off evil and illness. Cast in warm 14k yellow gold, this pendant is double sided with the profile of Athena on the reverse.
